    I am just starting to do tattoos and can't figure out the depth as far as holding the machine in order to reach the second layer of skin. Also I need to know how long should the needle stick out on a shader? Can anybody help me?

    go to the downloads page and get the training manual
    Code:
      [URL="http://learn-to-tattoo.co.uk/tattoo-downloads/view.download/1/1.html"]http://learn-to-tattoo.co.uk/tattoo-downloads.html[/URL]
    it tells you what depth to set to

    still need help

    I have the manual, I think what I'm trying to say is I still go either to deep or not deep enough when I did a tattoo on myself, so I was hoping someone knew a trick to outlining and shading.

    Did you try the pig skin first? I wouldnt go digging needles in myself before i knew how deep tp go.

    I did a search using simply "depth" and found this
    Code:

    and many more.

    For lining, you should go in around 2mm. BUT, whilst tattooing yourself, and im sure most of the members here will agree, its very hard to keep a constant depth, because it seems to hurt 10x more.

    Are you riding the tube?? This way is fool proof!

    thinks for the advice

    I'm going to ride the tube and see how that works because I was running the needdle long and can't see how deep I'm actually going in the skin.

    I think most people have the same problem if you ride the tube you will take out the the depth problem but don't run your machine when dipping the ink otherwise you wil get ink all other the shop
