P Could use a few pointers before starting my first portraiture piece

1. do you have to use bug pins, i think i can only access 12xx magnums.

2. i am going to bloodline the entire stencil first, is this standard?

3. i have heard from many people that for realism pieces, the darkest wash you should use is 50%black. You can use pure black for stuff like the hair and maybe the pupils.

I cant give you any pointers personally but heres a link to a video that might be usefull seen some of your work and its good so I hope this piece goes well for you.. Ive only heard 1 person talk about bloodlining so it would be interesting to hear peoples thoughts on that...this bob tyrell video he talks about what tones he uses is worth a watch I think this is any help.. Some reason link wont show on here , sorry just ignore this shite ive just written..i cant seem to delete it..

are you not planning on finishing it? I'm not sure why you'd want bloodlines and not stencils. Most of my friends who do portraits just start at the bottom and work their way up.
