Hey peeps,

I’m new to this forum, nice to meet y’all.
Currently I’ve been using a Cheyenne pen for the last 5 years, but now that I’m moving into more line work and am-trad.... I’m finding that it’s struggling..
Essentially I feel that I need something with more power. I’d like to stay with rotary and the ability to stick with cartridge systems.
Basically, I’m just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for other cartridge system rotary machines that I should take a look at, and why :)
I’d really love a machine that is good for lining and shading.
Help is very much appreciated!

Thank you in advance

I’ve started using a Spektra Edge X and really happy with it.

It’s a dedicated cartridge machine and you can use disposable grips with it.

It also has adjustable stroke and give. It appears to be a good all rounder.

Ok cool, I’ll take a look at that one as well. Thank you! Do you find you need to run it quite high to line?

I haven’t tried the thunder, I just feel like if I’m gonna spend that much money on another machine I might as well try something totally different.. which is why I have my eye on the kubin, but I don’t know many artists who rock one with cartridges.. just classic needle bars.

You should have a look at the Buffalo machine by Lithuanian Irons. Works really good with carts and does great thick lines. Plus it’s an amazing color packer ?
