Hi Guys,
I'm really new to this, but this site has been so helpful already! I'm only practicing on pig skin at the moment, but as soon as I'm ready I would like to tattoo myself as apparently human skin is very different. I have read on other threads that the best place to tattoo yourself is your thighs, however I have burn scars on my upper legs from about 18 months ago. Is the general rule to avoid tattooing on scar tissue altogether? I have heard it's more difficult but is it at all dangerous? I have a couple of scars that have been tattooed over no problem, but these are much older. Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated, cheers!

Yes, usually, tho the older and flatter and softer the scar the better

Try massaging the scar you have with Bio-oil for a few months, it softens and flattens it really well, although it's a bit expensive it's worth it.

the reccommended waiting time is around 18 months before tattooing, the bigger the scar the longer i would leave it tho, probally dont want too many passes over it either
