Not a chance. More often than not, a black design will only be covered by an even darker black design, often making it bigger and uglier than the original. Sometimes you can try and mingle it in with a lighter colour, but you have to plan it right. Have a look at my gallery, at the Gypsey tattoo that covered a black dragon. you will see that even magenta struggles to hide a dark colour underneath, but it can mask something.
